A new ELS Center is now open! ELS/Rochester, in partnership with well-regarded State University of New York (SUNY) The College at Brockport, began classes on March 25, 2013. ELS/Rochester is ELS’s fifth Center in the state, and the first outside of the New York City area.

The College offers 49 undergraduate majors, 47 graduate programs and 24 areas of teacher certification, combined Bachelor’s/Master’s programs and has program accreditation in 13 areas. Over the past decade, Brockport has become one of the most selective of the SUNY comprehensive colleges.

The ELS facility, with all classrooms, offices and Language Technology Center, is located on campus in Dailey Hall. You have full access to Brockport’s library, recreation facilities, computer labs and other facilities.

Brockport accepts ELS intensive English for Academic Purposes Level 112 as fulfillment of its English proficiency requirement for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Concurrent enrollment opportunities are available to you.

Letters of Conditional Admission based upon Level 112 are issued for the majority of programs. Brockport programs cover a wide assortment including accounting, biochemistry, business, computer information systems, dance, exercise science, international business & economics, medical technology, music, nursing, physics, psychology, sport management and water resources.

On-campus housing is available for ELS students in Morgan Hall, a traditional residence hall.

Brockport and neighboring Rochester, New York

Brockport is a community of 8,100 people. Calling itself the “The Victorian Village on the Erie Canal,” it recently remodeled the village portion of the Erie Canal, providing a bricked walkway, a brand new canal visitors’ center and several pieces of art. Annual events of interest include the Brockport Symphony Orchestra Soloist Showcase Concert, the Brockport Merchants Association Wine Walk and the “Bike the Erie Canal Tour.”

Nearby Rochester, the third-largest city in New York, has a population of 210,600 people. The area is an international center of higher education, as well as medical and technological development. It also is home to corporations such as Kodak, Bausch & Lomb and Xerox. These companies conduct extensive research and manufacturing in the fields of industrial and consumer products.

The College at Brockport is about 30 kilometers west of downtown Rochester, the third-largest city in New York State. Many other exciting destinations are nearby!
